Noah Slade is a Formula 1 legend in the making.

Focused. Unapproachable. Ruthless on and off the track.

A man with walls higher than the Grand Canyon.

      And my brother’s new teammate.

I want more of the prince who disguises himself as the villain.

But while I crave a happy ending, he wants to destroy his.

Maya Alatorre is a forbidden temptation.

An ambitious post-grad I should stay far away from.

And chaos wrapped with a bow.

We’re a ticking time bomb, about one wrong move away from exploding.

I want to trip the wire, detonating together in passion and pain.

Because in the end, all’s fair in lust and war.

Throttled is a steamy standalone romance in the Dirty Air world.

LOVE LOVE LOVEWhat should I say. I absolutely loved this book🥰.Well…. lets say I adored it💞 .Love Mayas character and also her relationship to her family. What should I say about Noah at the beginning he was a ✨douchebag✨, but it didn’t took me long to start liking him. Also Noah gives me Charles Leclerc vibes🩷. (I had to say it.)Because of this book I will start watching Formula1. Actually tomorrow 10.20.2023 will be the first race I watch🏎 🏎 🏎Thank you so much Lauren Asher for such a good book<3

F1 and RomanceI’m going to start this review of by saying that Lauren Asher is one of my instant buy authors. This book is the first one in the Dirty Air Series and it sets of a really good expectation for the rest of the series. Before reading this book I had absolutely no interest in F1, but after reading it and the rest of the series, I became totally entangled in this world, and now, I can say with 100% certainity that I am a fan of motorsport.Besides the motorsport aspect, this book is a great rom-com full of banter and sarcastic and complex characters

Throttled ReviewFrom Lala’s Book ReviewsTo my knowledge this is Lauren’s first published book, so I started her books backwards by reading the Dreamland Billionaires series first, but the series aren’t really connected other than a couple of mentions of F1 racing. Not going to lie, I like the Dreamland Billionaires Series better. Don’t get me wrong I really enjoyed this book and found it hard to resist once I first picked it up, but it just didn’t hit all of the marks like Lauren’s later books does.Throttled alternates between Noah and Maya’s POV throughout the whole book giving a wider experience not only in their story progression but also their character growth.Maya has always kind of lived in the shadows of her brother, Santiago, since they were kids as his racing career has developed into what it is now with him signing onto a well-known F1 racing team who just so happens to have the one racer who he cost a win a couple years back.Maya recently graduated college and is looking to travel the next year with Santi while he starts a new chapter with team. She’s looking to start off her vlogging channel and just live life to the fullest with this opportunity to travel along side her brother. She knew all about Noah’s reputation of being the bad boy who isn’t shy about his extracurricular activities outside of the race track and is fully prepared for the devilishly good looks mixed with his broody attitude. But even her expectations does nothing compared to seeing and being near him in real life making it much harder than she initially thought to ignore him, and despite her growing and undeniable attraction to him, she won’t hookup her brother’s teammate. Plus, even with her traveling so much, she would much rather have a serious relationship rather than a casual fling that Noah is more known for. But, Noah doesn’t back down from a challenge, especially one that is Maya Alatorre who makes his body react like no other and make him want to do things that he isn’t known for.Noah knows how good he is on the racetrack with years of experience to back it up. He’s cynical at best when it comes to relationships thanks to his parents less than stellar relationship. His dad is one of his sponsors and is only looking for Noah to win his next race while his mom only wants tickets to the best events that Noah can score with his popularity status. He knows that Maya is different from any woman that he’s ever met that leads to him giving her those small smiles and his signature smirk, and despite the sexual tension that comes alive anytime they so much as look at each other, he respects her boundaries. But he can only be pushed so far without cracking. After working on himself, Noah is ready to try a relationship with Maya, but could it be to late and could he have already blown his chances with her with some of the things that he has done?Like Lauren’s other books that I’ve read, there is great character develop from both Noah and Maya as Noah has a lot of personal stuff that he’s molded him into the person he is now for better or worse, and Maya just grows up a lot given everything that she goes through.Lauren also does a great job of the relationship development with of Maya and Noah as they are both complex people with completely different personalities and outlooks on life itself.Throttled is a great first book to the series. Despite this book being about Noah and Maya, there was such great incorporation of the other characters that will be focused on in the other books of the series. This book has it all from witty and sarcastic characters to the spicy scenes to those moments that will tug on your heart strings!

ThrottledI really enjoyed this book! I can’t say I’m into sports or cars, but Lauren Asher just has a way to make you care for almost anything!I do have to admit I was nervous, since I’m not into F1, but I didn’t find it an issue at all, in fact I think it showed me that I think F1 races are very attractive and that I maybe have a need for speed…Maya is a firecracker and I couldn’t love her more. Strong independent women – YES!And I love a good romcom that has a HEA <3

Noah and Maya >>>I enjoyed this book a lot. IT kept me on my toes and the tension was amazing. From the very beginning I was interested. You can kind of tell that this is her first book which is why it isn’t perfect or why in reality I’m rating it 3.75. This book isn’t smut with plot. It has a plot with a subplot of romance. You actually learn a lot about F1 racing in this book. Kind of makes me want to watch some real F1 racing in the future at some point.Noah and Maya are cute. From the very beginning there was some tension. At first from Noah it was just because he wanted her but by like page 100 it had turned into some feelings. This is a little on the slowburn side of things because there first kiss isn’t until like page 150. But it was kind of worth the wait. I loved the character development with Noah. He had his moments from the beginning where I wasn’t a huge fan of him but the way he changes over this book is so good. Maya is probably my favorite person right now besides Sophie. You meet all the characters in this book and you get a little insight to each of them. But that’s not the point. The point is that I really enjoyed this. Noah’s parents can die in a deep dark hole and I could care less. Noah and Maya’s relationship is so good, but I’m excited to see what happens between Liam and Sophia in the next book because you got a little into that in this book. Can’t wait to read more from Lauren Asher in the future.
