      Product description

Everything is fair in love and war.
      And this is war.
Ryan and June were high school friends with an adorable love-hate relationship. Well-known for their battle of wits, they came dangerously close to kissing on their graduation night. But the moment passed, and so did a chance at love.
It’s been twelve years and their best friends are getting married. Seeing each other in the same city with the sort of history they have, won’t be easy. Ryan’s charm doesn’t help, either. June plans to rub every delicious detail of her life in Ryan’s face and ignore the rest.
Sounds like a plan, doesn’t it? But can she ignore her feelings for him? Or his undivided attention to her?
The Enemy is an electrifying story of ‘frenemies’ meeting after a decade, with sparks of love and fatal attraction drawing them towards each other.

Feel good romance, great fun to read

      4. Elegant Fantasy

This is the second book in the series and it’s about Jack’s sister June and her childhood nemesis turned famous hotshot chef, Ryan Henderson.”It’s been twelve years since I’ve seen him. Twelve years since his smug face leaned down to kiss me, stopped just before our mouths met, smirked, and then turned and walked out of my life forever.”I really love the enemies to lovers romance trope but I hate it when it’s is one sided that too over a single grudge that happened years ago which that causes unnecessary hatred. Unfortunately that was all the story was about and I lost interest because of that.”All I know is that June says she hates me. But I don’t hate her. In fact, I think I’m just as crazy about her as I was back then.”June was an independent woman who was successful in her buisness that she co owned with her bestfriend Stacey. Now, that Stacey is getting married to her long time sweetheart and her fiance Logan is bestfriends with Ryan, it’s obvious that Ryan is invited to their wedding that causes Ryan & June to face each other a lot.“June, I’m not your enemy. I never was.”Since the beginning itself we see that Ryan doesn’t hate June as much as she does and he’s always liked her since he was twelve. I admit that part was cute but, the characters acted like they were still teenagers when they were in their thirties. The banter felt really dry and immature.“You don’t hate me.” “I might,” I say quietly. “But you don’t.” I swallow. “I should.” “You love the competition just as much as I do.”Throughout the story, June constantly mentions how they both used to bug each other a lot in school simply to annoy one another but only a few of the instances were mentioned. It would have been a lot more easier to connect with the characters if their past in school was mentioned briefly. Ryan was the main pursuer and always found ways to barge into June’s life, sometimes I thought it was cute but then I started to see that he was also overbearing. June did not have a good experience with her past relationship and she developed some insecurities due to that. It was the only thing that was relatable about her character. On top of that, she had some ridiculous “one date only” rule thing going on and that made me annoyed at her.Basically the whole book was about June not taking a chance to get to know the men who were interested in her beyond one date and when Ryan comes along, that rule magically disappears. Also, their date takes place in the last few chapters and that felt a lot like the plot was dragged.Overall, the story was good but cliche and there were a lot of unnecessary monologues which I just skimmed through. I don’t know, I finished the book quicker than it usually takes me to finish one? The writing was engaging, I have no qualms about that but the story lacked angst and I just couldn’t connect with the characters and their conflicts. The book was soft and dry. If you want to read something fun without a lot of drama or a complicated plotline, give this a try.

I love a book which leaves me with a warm feeling and this book did that to me. Very adorable story of June and Ryan.

      6. RAINA DATTA

I really enjoyed the story and all. But the one thought that is constantly in my head is that there was no sex scene, not one.

      7. GV

A classic haters to lovers. Very well written. I definitely connected more with the characters of this book than The Match. I will definitely be reading this book again and again and again

      8. Rituparna Ghosh

After a long time read a clean funny romance which seemed more than lust and smouldering! Loved how mature and thoughtful Ryan’s character was without being brute ! Love stories panning many decades are my weakness and this very cutely marries highschool drama to adulthood.Only con maybe is the story seemed a bit stretched around June, wish her character was also as strongly developed as Ryan’a

hilariousI love Ryan so much, he’s oh so patient with June and her insecurities. I had a goofy smile all the time while reading this book. It has become one of my favorite romcoms. They are sweet and funny, and I love their sense of humor.

WOOOOOWWOW! WOW! WOW! JUST. WOW!!!!!!Oh my gosh! I’ve read an unlimited amount of romantic books on Kindle. It’s always the same. And I don’t complain! But THIS ONE?!?! It surpasses all!!There is not a second that I didn’t like in this book. It’s so funny, I’ve laughed a couple of times, the relationship between Ryan and June is EXTRAORDINARY! The connection, the feelings, the conversations… All so well portrayed! And the drama! Haha! I’m laughing because there is NO drama!!!!! I hate drama! I hate it with my whole heart and even more because it’s the same pattern in each book I read. But here? It was beautiful. No bad decisions, no stupid drama. Just real and profound reflexion leading Ryan and June to get closer and closer. The humor was so great, the way Ryan approched June so she would run away, the friendships between June and her friend, her mother, her brother…And the conversations between them! Wait. I already said that!I’m in love with this book.In fact, I’m going to buy it right now because I’ll read it again, and again.I think the author is my new favorite. After buying this one, I’ll read all the other books she wrote!
