Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling Paperback

      Product description

When the Knight Bus crashes through the darkness and screeches to a halt in front of him, it’s the start of another far from ordinary year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. Sirius Black, escaped mass-murderer and follower of Lord Voldemort, is on the run – and they say he is coming after Harry. In his first ever Divination class, Professor Trelawney sees an omen of death in Harry’s tea leaves . But perhaps most terrifying of all are the Dementors patrolling the school grounds, with their soul-sucking kiss.

These new editions of the classic and internationally bestselling, multi-award-winning series feature instantly pick-up-able new jackets by Jonny Duddle, with huge child appeal, to bring Harry Potter to the next generation of readers. It’s time to PASS THE MAGIC ON .

“Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” is the third book in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. It continues the adventures of Harry Potter, a young wizard, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley during their third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The story begins with Harry spending another miserable summer with the Dursleys, his aunt, uncle, and cousin. Soon, Harry learns that Sirius Black, a dangerous wizard and supporter of Lord Voldemort, has escaped from Azkaban, the wizarding prison. Black is believed to be after Harry, as he is believed to be responsible for betraying Harry’s parents to Voldemort.

As Harry returns to Hogwarts, he learns that Dementors, dark creatures that feed on happiness and can suck out a person’s soul, have been stationed around the school to guard against Black. Harry is haunted by Dementors, and Professor Lupin teaches him the Patronus Charm to defend himself.

Meanwhile, Harry learns more about his parents’ past and their connection to Sirius Black, as well as the mysterious Marauder’s Map, which shows the entire layout of Hogwarts, including secret passages.

As the school year progresses, Harry discovers that Sirius Black is not the villain he has been made out to be. He learns that Black was framed for betraying his parents by Peter Pettigrew, who is disguised as Ron’s pet rat, Scabbers. Pettigrew was the true traitor and responsible for Harry’s parents’ deaths.

In the climax, Harry and his friends confront Pettigrew and Black in the Shrieking Shack, where the truth is revealed. They are interrupted by a group of Dementors, and Harry’s Patronus saves them. Sirius Black is proven innocent, and Pettigrew escapes.

In the end, Harry learns that Sirius Black is his godfather and that he has inherited a large fortune from his parents. As the school year comes to a close, Harry looks forward to spending the summer with his friends and the knowledge that Sirius Black is not the threat he once believed.

Throughout the book, themes of friendship, loyalty, and the struggle between good and evil are explored, as Harry comes to terms with his past and prepares for the challenges that lie ahead.
