About the Author

J.K. Rowling is the author of the record-breaking, multi-award-winning Harry Potter novels. Loved by fans around the world, the series has sold over 500 million copies, been translated into 80 languages, and made into eight blockbuster films. She has written three companion volumes in aid of charity: Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (in aid of Comic Relief and Lumos), and The Tales of Beedle the Bard (in aid of Lumos), as well as a screenplay inspired by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which marked the start of a five-film series to be written by the author. The story is known by all but Jim Kay’s illustrations really make this book come alive. If you’re just introducing reading to ur child then this is an amazing way to start the world of Harry Potter. The hard copy is quite heavy but that’s because of the additional content. It’s lovely book! Go for it!

I bought the hard cover one, which is the illustrated edition. This will be an excellent gifting option to a young child as well as a potter head. The illustration is not influenced by the movies. So that is good. If you are trying to lure your young son/daughter/niece/nephew, into the world of harry potter, this will be an excellent choice. The illustration might make the book much more appealing to a child or any new reader in that case.

The book arrived in excellent condition and the original illustrations are gorgeous. Unique from any other editions of harry potter with glossy paper larger font and fantastic illustrations of the artist Jim Kay. The packaging could have been sturdier to avoid any possible damage but luckily the book arrived unscathed. A visual treat for all ages.
