      1. Snehil

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is a science fiction novel that explores life, death and the monstrosity of humankind.Victor, in the quest for knowledge(or dangerous obsession for ambition) created a monster, but was it really a monster??The story showcased the yearning for companionship, the desire for acceptance and belonging and what does a little kindness can’t fix, only if each one could get an equal share of it!The sync between character’s emotions and the changing season is so good and poignant, spring for the happy cheery vibe and winters, quite the opposite. The switch in narrations added an exquisite touch to the story, making it even more captivating. What makes Frankenstein a must-read book is how the author beautifully expresses emotions with just a few words.

Title : Frankenstein or The Modern PrometheusAuthor : Mary ShelleyGenre : Gothic / Science FictionRatings : 🌟🌟🌟🌟☆Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is a timeless classic, a compulsive imagination of the future and science which has a really great significance and can be linked to today’s culture with a message that the extend to which man collects knowledge can ultimately backfire and fail to produce any good outcomes. Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist, gives life to an inanimate corpse, creates a monster unfortunately and terrified by his own creation, he abandon the fiend which ultimately lead to the destruction of his family and life. Unable to create another wretch, Victor refuses the monster’s request to create a companion for him and eventually, Victor’s dear ones become the victims of the fiend’s revenge and his endless hatred to the entire mankind. This is a well crafted classic, rather poetic, and Shelley’s insight about the human mind and emotions are truly wondrous. This is a story filled with hidden meanings, future insights, history and a heart-wrenching denouement, perfectly describing human’s feelings and their innermost questions regarding life and death.

Got the book in pretty good condition.Amazing print quality.Received a book with different cover at first.I absolutely hated the cover. It was more hulk than Frankenstein. And had some scratches on the back cover. Got it replaced.Recieved an exact book as per the description.Totally worth the price.

I have received the book with few bents (might be during transportation) but the pages were fresh and in good condition.

      8. Jang Singh

I’ll start off with the quality of the book…- The quality of the cover and the pages is good, no complaints- The font is comfortable to read- Absolutely no damages of any sort- Arrived on time- No bookmark delivered- You can see the size of the novel compared to a regular notebookNow, the book review…Frankenstein is a brilliant book not just because it’s a horror novel but because of the way the story is written, the way the characters are constructed, the way the plot unfolds.Do remember while reading this novel you have to see it through the eyes of a 19th-century person and understand it, if you are a person who just likes horrifying scenes and likes to feel goosebumps and doesn’t really care much for the plot then this is not for you.The story is completely different to what you expect it to be and it’s gorgeous. Well, it was to me.Hence, I highly recommend people with an open mind to read this book. Please, DO NOT READ this book with the expectations of a modern era horror novel. That’s all. Hope this was helpful.

Outstanding creativity!“Frankenstein has done more than any other story to define the anxieties of modern life. But it’s what it tells us about compassion that we need now more than ever.”, by Rebecca Lawrence (BBC Culture – June 13, 2018)If you think that because you have watched the movie adaptations you can skip this book, then you don’t know what you are missing. The movie obscured Shelley’s intentions. This is not a horror book. It’s a drama at its finest. The writing is fascinating! And if you add the audiobook narrated by Dan Stevens you will be transported to the era and be totally involved in the emotional rollercoaster. The writing is complex and vivid and expresses the anguish of both monster and creator.I thought the story was exceptionally well told and the writing definitely brought it to life. What I enjoyed the most is that we have the monster’s perspective. What an incredible imagination! The author was 18 years old and this book was written in 1818, so take that into consideration. What a great read!
